FAQ

The honest answers

Everything people usually want to know before they trust a site like this one. Fair questions, straight answers — and we enjoy getting them.

Is any of this training or medical advice?

No. EnduranceProof is educational — we look into performance claims and explain what the evidence shows. We're not your coach, dietitian or doctor, and nothing here is a training plan or personal advice. Before you change how you train, eat or recover — especially with a health condition — talk to a qualified professional. More in the disclaimer on our About page.

Who's actually behind it?

Someone who trains, races, and has spent years reading the research on training, fatigue and performance — and who thinks far too much of it never reaches the people it could help. There's no name or photo on the site, and nothing mysterious about that: it keeps the writing pointed at the studies, and every write-up links everything it used, so you can always go and look for yourself. The About page has the longer version.

Do you take sponsors or free gear?

No. Nobody in this sport pays us, and no test shoes quietly never go back. In a world where most "reviews" are paid for one way or another, that independence is the product — it's what lets us be genuinely pleased when something turns out to work.

How do you decide what to check?

We go for the things that get talked about most and looked into least — that gap is where a careful read-through helps the most. And you get a vote: every deep-dive has a poll for what's next, and you can always reply or message us with the claim that's been bugging you. The library shows everything we're working through, and what's next.

How does a check work?

The slow way, every time: start with the promise as it's sold, find all the research (the awkward studies count double), weigh how good it really is, separate the lab number from what happens on the road, and say how sure we are — out loud, including "not very." Every number comes with its source, so you can check us. Walk through it on the About page or see it in action on the super-shoes deep-dive.

How much email is this?

One email when a new deep-dive is done — that's it. No weekly newsletter, no filler to stay top of mind. Quiet weeks just mean there's nothing worth your time yet. One click unsubscribes you, any time, no hard feelings.

What sports does it cover?

Running, cycling, swimming, triathlon and trail & ultra — and a lot of what we look into (fuelling, caffeine, recovery, training methods) applies to every endurance athlete. You can filter the library by sport, topic or kind, but you don't have to.

And when something turns out to be wrong?

Then it gets corrected where everyone can see it, dated. Changing our minds when the evidence changes is the whole point of working this way; a write-up is a snapshot of what holds up today, not a monument. Spot a mistake? Tell us and we'll look again.

Is it free? Will there be a paywall?

It's free to read. If that ever changes, the checks themselves stay readable — we're not here to lock evidence behind a subscription. The only thing we'll ever ask for is your email, and only so you don't miss the next one.

Got a promise you want looked at?

Please do. Vote in the poll on any deep-dive, email info@enduranceproof.com, message @EnduranceProof_ on X, or reply to any email you get from us. Reader requests genuinely move things up the queue.

Question we didn't answer?

Ask on X at @EnduranceProof_ — or leave your email and get the next deep-dive when it lands.

One email per deep-dive. No spam, never shared, one click to leave.
